Zadar is an ideal place for lovers of water activities. The coast, with its many islands and straits, is very diverse . Thanks to this marvelous scenery , sailing fans will feel like they have found heaven. Particularly stunning are the the islands of Pasman , Dugi Otok , Molat and Olib . For lovers of diving, we recommend in particular: Vodenjak , Mezanj , Molat , Szent Istvan and Grebeni . If you want to dive on the reef , then head to the shoal at Grebeni . At a depth of 15 meters you will see a bottom covered with corals , sponges and sea moss . Things to do in Zadar
When in Zadar you must visit the these four main tourist attractions. The first one is called Five Children Well. As you can guess in this square there are five wells that are scattered across the plaza. During Medieval times these wells were an important water resource for the city’s citizens. Nowadays, being in the oldest part of the city, it is a very popular meeting place and tourist attraction.
Another interesting attraction is the Sea Organ . Built in 2005, as the name suggest it is a manmade instrument that is played by nature. As the tide comes in thirty five tubes, with whistles attracted, play up to seven different cords and omit some great natural music.
Art and beauty lovers should make sure you visit an art installation called " Greeting to the Sun " . The amazing show begins with sunset, when you can see a wonderful play of light .
Finally be sure to check out Zadar’s main high street Kalelarga, also known as the Wide Street (Široka ulica). The most famous street in the city, it is said that Kalelarga outdates to formation of the city itself. Leading from west to east People´s Square (Narodni trg) up to the city’s famous Forum which features a number of Roman relics, the street has the best shopping in Dalmatia.
Our stay in the house exceeded our expectations. The house was perfectly equipped, very clean and inviting. The photos were accurate and there were plenty of cooking utensils, a hairdryer, two washing machines and two towels per person. A car is necessary to reach the beach and the old town, but there are also affordable taxis. There are many parking spots available in front of the house. Ante and Nadija were excellent hosts who were available for questions and always happy to help. During our visit, the pool was cleaned twice by the hosts, of which we were informed in advance. The wifi had some issues but after plugging it out & in once a day everything worked fine - noting that we had 7 phones and some other advices like notebooks and laptops. A nice add on for the pool would be a beach umbrella for some extra shade. If we ever come back to Zadar, we hope to stay with Ante and Nadija again. Thank you for the great time!
