It's not just the sweeping coastline that attracts visitors to the Yorke Peninsula. There’s so much to experience here that you’ll be tempted to return for your next break.
The peninsula’s mining history is well known. The gypsum mine at Inneston was once home to more than 150 mining families. Visit this long-abandoned ghost town and wind your way through the old shops, post office, and other buildings on the 2km Inneston Historic Walk.
Known locally as “Millionaires Row,” Black Point is one of South Australia’s most stunning stretches of coastline. Modern beach houses with epic views across the ocean stand side-by-side with more modest beach shacks. The area is open for all to enjoy, with access points to the beach at many locations.
Be surrounded by wildlife on Troubridge Island. This former lighthouse island off Edithburgh is home to more than 30,000 migratory birds and thousands of penguins. This is one place you'll definitely want your camera. Keep an eye out around the shoreline and on the short boat ride over for dolphins playing and feeding in the water.
