About
San Diego has a population of over one million, but you would hardly notice for the chilled out vibe of the city. The coast stretches approximately 120 miles, adjacent to the border with Mexico. It was the first part of the West Coast to have been visited by the Europeans, which upon landing, was claimed as Spanish land by Founder Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo. In the 1860s, the bayfront was transformed into the developed waterfront ‘New Town’ that we see today. It is now considered to be the true centre of San Diego, overtaking the Old Town. San Diego enjoys a summer Mediterranean climate throughout the year, which means locals and tourists alike spend a lot of their time surfing, sunbathing and strolling along the beaches.
