Getting to your Falls Creek accommodation

Falls Creek, in the heart of Victoria's Alpine National Park, connects conveniently by air, rail and road with Albury to the north. Daily direct flights from Melbourne and Sydney via QantasLink, Virgin and Rex are available, and the onward road trip takes under two hours from Albury Airport into the heart of Falls Creek.

Additionally, a train service from Southern Cross Station to Albury runs daily and there is a connecting V/line coach service to Mount Beauty and the Falls Creek resorts.

Driving from Melbourne takes around four hours via the Hume Highway before taking the Wangaratta turnoff. Falls Creek can also be reached in a day's driving from most parts of Victoria and New South Wales. Be aware that in snow season there's a legal requirement to carry snow chains in your vehicle.

Fun is never far away in Falls Creek and activities for families are available all year round. The toboggan runs at Falls Creek are free to use - you only pay for equipment hire. Of course, if you bring your own toboggan then it's completely free, but make sure your sled adheres to the resort's regulations.

If your family want to slide about with a bit more adrenaline, then the Snow Tube Park offers carved snow walls and banks to navigate on your own inflatable tube. There is a minimum age of five years and the tubes do pick up a fair bit of speed during the descent. But it's great fun.

There are additionally some excellent ski schools for all ages. Fall Creeks Snowsports School is well known and admired for its excellent facilities and instructors. With group lessons for kids from the ages of three and up, you will be amazed at how quickly they will learn the basics and be zipping past you on the slopes in no time.
