For a bit of culture, check out Bondi Pavilion, home to an art gallery, theatre, and cafe. In summer, this becomes the venue for a highly popular outdoor cinema series.
Take a hike! Enjoy a scenic 6km coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee. En route, stop to admire the picture-perfect beaches and bays: Gordons Bay, Clovelly, Tamarama, and Bronte. The cliff-top walk is also home to beautiful parks, scenic picnic spots, and rock pools. Beach rentals, toilets, changing rooms, free electric barbecues, cafes, and restaurants dots the beaches as well. Only a few steep gradients and staircases feature along this medium grade urban walk, which should take a couple hours. Every October the walk features Sculptures by the Sea, the biggest free outdoor sculpture exhibition in the world.
Try your hand at surfing. You can rent the equipment you'll need at the beach and then sign yourself, or the kids, up for a few lessons.
Dive into the inviting waters of the Bondi Icebergs ocean pool, located at the southern end of the beach. The pool juts out into the ocean and waves crash against its walls. Admission to the turquoise pool also includes entry to the sauna. After you swim and sweat, lounge in the on-site bistro, which offers spectacular views of the pool and ocean.
